Metamorphosis is a complete and abrupt change in form, nature, or substance. It is the difficult process of transformation, growth, and even rebirth. With change comes a flood of emotions: apprehension, doubt, despair.

Inside the cocoon the caterpillar must be patient, and take its time. Wrapped in fear and uncertainty, limited and constricted, the caterpillar knows not the beauty of the future, requiring fierce courage to hold on. But there is hope for what lies just ahead. The darkness of the past will be overcome by the light of this transformation.

The refugee journey is also one of transformation. From the depth of the valley to the pinnacle of the mountain, the journey is treacherous, tearing down and rebuilding a life to discover a new purpose. Metamorphosis culminates when suddenly you're soaring through the air and your perspective changes completely. Who could recognise the cocoon from such a height?
