SAEIDEH RAHIMI MOGHADAM

On one of the last hot days of summer, Saeideh was born into a small artistic family of kind-hearted people in the beautiful city of Rasht in the northernmost part of Iran. Saeidah also has a younger sister who is a teacher and educated in the field of physical education

Saeideh began her artistic journey in 1997. Between 1997 and 2004 she created more than 400 oil paintings of various styles including Cubism, Symbolism, and Realism.

In 2004 Saeideh entered university in the field of physical education, distancing herself from art. After graduating from university, she met Ali who would eventually become her husband, and father to their 9-year old son, Spanta. Spanta is a kind, good-hearted boy with a pleasant laugh who also loves art.

After being diagnosed with MS in 2016, Saeideh became sad and very anxious. It was difficult for her to understand the disease and face an uncertain future. She manages the disease now through weekly injections.

Sometimes she is very well, and sometimes she is not. One thing she learned very quickly was that she needed to try to live with this disease and be friends with its pain. “After a few years,” she says, “we were able to understand each other better and become good friends.”

The early days of Saeideh’s illness came with a strong desire to begin drawing and painting on canvas again. Creating art would be very therapeutic for her and help her to relax. So, in 2017 she started painting again. Since then, she has created more than 80 oil paintings, maintaining her style in Cubism, Symbolism, and Realism.

With the income earned through art exhibitions, Saeideh intends to help special patients who are also suffering from MS in her home country, Iran, as the cost of medicine and treatment is very expensive. “May God help me with this in a great way.”
